The Simple Way is a web of subversive friends, conspiring to spread the vision of loving God, loving people, and following Jesus in our neighborhoods and in our world.
The Simple Way started out as a community house in 1999 and has since grown to an internationally recognized non-profit, but their web & communication abilities did not grow with them. The most recent website was built in 2002, infrequently updated, and difficult to navigate.
I rebuilt the website from the ground up, implementing a content management system (cms), so that the average internet user can update the website content. I developed a logo, which drew upon common elements from the earliest days of the community. I also created a Facebook fan page for Shane Claiborne, one of The Simple Way’s co-founders which has over 6,500 fans.
More recently, I am working to implement a constituent relationship management system which help track donors & supporters.
Case Study: The Simple Way
The Simple Way began as a community house in 1999 and has since grown into an internationally known Christian and social justice non-profit. Unfortunately, their website did not grow with them. In 2009, when Brian Gerald Murphy was hired to redesign the entire Simple Way brand, their website had an outdated design, a messy and complicated organization structure, and a hard-to-user interface.
What did we do?
- Logo design
- Social media setup & strategy (Facebook, Flickr, YouTube)
- Website redesign
- Web administration overhaul
What were the results?
- 6.63% increase in visits
- 26.64% increase in pageviews
- 18.76% increase in pages per visit
- 23.82% increase in average time on site
The new Simple Way website is sleek, engaging, and easy to use. It provides visitors with the information they are looking for and helps The Simple Way reach visitors with the messages they want to share.
